With over 2.3 million Creative Cloud subscribers, Adobe’s recent update to its cloud platform has IT user’s attention. Creative Cloud offers a subscription based service offering 14 of its most popular applications including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver and InDesign. To accompany these applications, three new mobile applications for iPad have been launched; Adobe Sketch, Adobe Line and Adobe Photoshop Mix.

Creative Cloud will allow users to manage their files from mobile devices, through a new app for iPhone and iPad. Storing files in the cloud is optional and users will still be able to save files to a chosen device.

The main talking point of this update was the release of Adobe’s subscription model. Customers can purchase the package on annual subscriptions or a ‘cancel at any time’ option. Adobe has justified the price of their subscription packages by releasing regular updates.

Discounts are being offered to existing customers who are subscribed to Creative Suite 3 or later. Like many software providers, Adobe is offering up to 60% discounts to students, teachers and educational institutes.
