eBay Enterprise and Magento are, respectively, the #1 and #2 e-commerce platform providers in the 2015 Internet Retailer Top 500. Both platforms are part of eBay Inc.

The IR Top 500 ranks e-retailers by their 2014 online sales and other key data points — up to 263 metrics total.

The organisation has seen growth in the last 12 months, with almost 7,500 stores now enabled globally (a 46% increase since April 2014). In addition, eBay Enterprise has gained over 200 new customers, including Adidas and Volvo, in the first quarter of 2015 alone.

Part of the success has come down to the increased use among retailers. The eBay Enterprise platform, which includes Magento, is now being used by 67 retailers of the top 500, an increase of 11 from last year. The Magento platform has also seen individual success and is now in use by 47 retailers of the top 500, an increase of 14 from 2014.

“Commerce technology must be quick to market with low cost of ownership. With enterprise-ready, modular solutions that can be deployed in the cloud, our clients avoid being locked into the development roadmap of a single SaaS vendor,” Craig Hayman, president, eBay Enterprise.
